Diane TombWashington, DC (September 13, 2016) – The National Rental Home Council (NRHC) announced today that Diane Tomb has been appointed Executive Director, effective the first of September. As the NRHC’s first Executive Director, Diane will lead the industry’s efforts to engage with stakeholders and members of the public to educate them on the importance of this growing housing sector and its positive impact on communities across the country.

“We are pleased to have Diane’s leadership during this exciting time in our industry,” said NRHC Board President and Invitation Homes CEO John Bartling. “Diane has a proven track record and possesses the right mix of skills to lead the continued growth of our organization. Her wealth of industry knowledge, policy expertise and more than 25 years of experience in this arena are a great match for the NRHC.”

Diane is an accomplished executive and entrepreneur who founded DC-based public affairs and business advisory firm Tomb & Associates LLC in 2003. From 2011–2013, she served as President and CEO of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), where she represented members on public policy issues before Congress and at the White House. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs at the Department of Housing and Urban Development and in the White House in both the Reagan and Bush 41 Administrations. She also served as SVP for communications at the Fannie Mae Foundation. She currently serves as a commissioner on the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Commission on Political Reform and is a member of the International Women’s Forum of Washington, DC.

“I am honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to lead and be the voice for this fast growing organization. Single-family rental housing plays a critical role in today’s housing market by providing residents and families the option of renting attractive, high-quality single family homes and providing important economic investment in communities across the nation,” said Tomb.

Earlier this summer, the NRHC welcomed four new member companies to the organization: Lafayette RE, a New York-based private equity firm focused on the single family homes for rent asset class; Rently, a self-service rental home showing platform; Roofstock, an online marketplace for investing in leased single-family rental homes; and SMS Assist, an online platform that manages contractors across multiple single-family rental units. These four new members demonstrate the continued growth of the NRHC in line with the overall growth of the single-family rental industry.
