WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 9, 2019) — The National Rental Home Council (NRHC), the trade association dedicated to advocating on behalf of the 16 million home single-family rental industry and its residents, announced today that David Howard has been named Executive Director. David joins NRHC from the Home Builders Institute (HBI), the workforce development affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), where he has served for the past three years as Chief Development Officer.
“David’s extensive experience working for non-profits and implementing innovative outreach programs will be critical to NRHC’s efforts as the single-family rental industry matures,” said NRHC President Kevin Baldridge, President of Tricon American Homes. “As the fastest-growing segment of the housing market, it’s an incredibly exciting time to be in the single-family rental space, and I look forward to watching NRHC continue to grow under David’s leadership.”
Prior to his tenure at HBI, David spent 11 years with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) as Executive Vice President, Membership & Development and as Executive Vice President, ULI Foundation & Global Development. He also served at the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) for seven years.
In his various roles, David has secured six- and seven-figure foundation grants, and launched individual and corporate giving programs. He has facilitated novel approaches to wide-ranging organizational operating, positioning, visioning, fundraising, and brand awareness, and he will bring these strengths to the NRHC and the single-family rental industry as a whole.

David begins his new role with NRHC on Monday, September 9th.
